a) Collins Dictionaries Special Offer
-------------------------------------
CHEST is pleased to announce a new Special Offer for a range of 
HarperCollins Dictionary products.  This should be of general interest 
to libraries and also to languages departments, so please forward this
announcement as appropriate.  The Offer is open to Higher and Further 
Education, Associated Sites, Irish Sites, SURFdiensten and IATUL.

The Special Offer covers three distinct product ranges:

Collins Dictionaries for Academic Research:  
Includes Collins Bilingual Range, Collins English Range for native 
speakers and Collins COBUILD Range for learners of English as a foreign
language. (see

Collins Dictionaries on CDROM:
Includes Collins COBUILD, Collins Desktop Wordfinder Thesaurus, Collins 
French Dictionary and Collins English Dictionary and Thesaurus (see

information).

Collins WordbanksOnline:
An online Internet service for accessing language data based on the 
Collins corpora of modern written and spoken text (see
<http://www.chest.ac.uk/datasets/harpercollins/wbindex.html> for more
information).

Pricing starts at £900.00 for Collins Dictionaries for Academic 
Research, £68.00 for Collins Dictionaries on CDROM and £45.00 for
Collins WordbanksOnline.

b) WizLearn - Call for Expressions of Interest
----------------------------------------------
CHEST would like to hear from Sites who are interested in a proposed
agreement for WizLearn 7.0 Academic Learning Management System (LMS).

WizLearn, a web-based LMS will be available at 3 levels, pilot, basic
and premium.  It is designed to bring students and teachers together in
a virtual learning environment (VLE) and to provide the tools, resources
and techniques necessary for communication, group interaction and
interactive support.  More details of the product are available from
<http://www.wizlearn.com.>  

Wizlearn is compared with 5 other VLE products on CHEST's VLE Comparison
Grid at <http://www.chest.ac.uk/datasets/vle/.>

The agreement will be open to all CHEST Eligible Sites including members
of IATUL and SURFdiensten.

Proposed prices for site licences, including 2 days training are as
follows(in UK pounds, including CHEST Admin Fee, excluding VAT;

These prices represent a discount of around 20 per cent on previously
offered academic prices.

An expression of interest does not commit your site to a licence,
however, it is hoped that responses will be based on an identified need
at your institution.


c) IEE Online Publications
--------------------------
Following on from the announcement regarding the new INSPEC Agreement 
in the CHEST Data Messenger of 20th December 2002, CHEST is pleased to 
announce that an additional product will also now be available via the 
new CHEST/IEE Agreement.

IEE Online Publications will be an additional product option alongside 
INSPEC under the new Agreement and will provide electronic access to:

Electronics Letters: IEE's rapid-publication letters journal, with 25 
issues per year from January 1994. 

IEE Proceedings: A series of 13 bimonthly titles, together covering all 
aspects of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing: A Bimonthly journal of 
the International Federation for Medical & Biological Engineering 

Engineering Journals: Six bimonthly IEE magazines aimed at practising 
engineers and engineering managers.

IEE Review: A monthly member magazine providing a regular insight into 
the rapidly advancing world of electronics and electrical engineering.

IEE Conferences: Conference proceedings from 1994 to the present

IEE Digests: Digests of information relating to presentations at 
colloquia and seminar events, available from 1995 onwards. 

There will also be the option to take some or all of the current 
subscription year's electronic journal titles in print, for each 
subscription year for which an institution is licensed for this option.

Pricing has yet to be fully confirmed but is likely to start at around 
£4250 for Online access to IEE Online Publications and £5250 for Online 
access and supply of print copies.
