What does it cover?

At the end of the day delegates will have

* considered the principles of subject cataloguing
* examined how to create basic headings in LCSH
* looked at the the use of subdvisions to refine headings
* examined the provision for the use of LCSH in MARC21
* reviewed the provision for special categories of material such as
periodicals, literature, music etc.

Practical examples are included throughout the day in order to
demonstrate and reinforce the techniques being considered.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for all types of staff using Library of Congress
Subject Headings in their cataloguing. It is appropriate for staff from
any kind of library
