Thanks - I've had more responses now. Various 1) have not upgraded to adobe 6 (and now do not intend to!) 2) have adobe 6 but no problems (only 1 respondent) 3) using adobe 6 and didn't realise they had a problem until my email! We have done further testing here for a variety of combinations of publishers and service providers: 1) blackwell and ingenta - cannot print 2) blackwell and swetswise - cannot print - as this redirects to ingenta 3) oup and ingenta - cannot print 4) oup and swetswise - cannot print - as this redirects to ingenta 5) sage and ingenta - cannot print 6) sage and swetswise - cannot print - as this redirects to ingenta 7) academic press and ingenta - cannot print 8) emerald and ingenta - ok 9) ALPSP and ingenta select - ok All other combinations appear to be ok. This is a huge problem to us. We need to attempt to inform our users that they need to save the pdf and open adobe separately - not an easy task! Alternatvely, change all our ingenta and swetswise/ingenta links to another service provider if available/possible - another huge, and not satisfactory, task. Our IT dept have offered to test full adobe (instead of reader) in case this makes a difference. On selecting the Adobe print icon, the (Adobe) message 'The document could not be printed' appears. I have just been informed by ingenta that this is a general problem and has been happening for a few months. They have informed the publishers. We have only just noticed it here - presumably because the students have just returned and most of our machines were upgraded in the summer. Are you all aware? If so, what workarounds are you using? Opening Adobe separately and then opening the article from there works ok but is impractical here.
