Subject: Lis-e-journals - some seasonal reminders

	Hi,

As the peak annual leave season for many of us is now in full flow, I
thought it might be helpful to put up a few reminders (those of you who
are model list members may hit delete at this point).

If you know that your email address is about to change it would be wise
to leave the list before the old address expires. This will enable you
to rejoin with the new address unaided.

If you are going to be absent for more than a day or so you can either
leave the list and rejoin when you return or send the following command
to [log in to unmask] (or [log in to unmask]) SET
LIS-E-JOURNALS NOMAIL or SET * NOMAIL for all lists you are subscribed
to. When you return, you can send another email with the command SET
LIS-E-JOURNALS MAIL OR SET * MAIL to start receiving mail from the
	list(s) again.

There is a certain amount you can do for yourself by visiting the
Subscriber's Corner of the jiscmail website http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk.

Beware of leaving your "out of office" message activated while you are
still set to receive mail - some systems achieve a boomerang effect
which results in every member of the list being bombarded with multiple
	copies of the autoreply message.

Finally, do not forget that list-owners will also have their mail
switched off while they are on holiday, so if a dispute arises about,
for example, an unsuitable posting, you might notice an absence of
response from them for a while.

	Cheers
	Lesley
