Hi Lesley,

Kent also took up a PsycARTICLES subscription with the APA under the terms
of the current deal for PsycINFO subscribers. We too could not wait for
another CHEST stab at brokering something, and the 20% discount proved
decisive (bringing the final cost close to the proposed CHEST prices).

It may be worth noting that when I talked to the APA stall at the Online
exhibition, they would make no promises about a further deal to encourage
people to resign when the current 3 year deal is up.

If enough institutions have joined under this deal, and if they will all be
coming up for renewal over the same period in 3 years time, it may be an
idea to encourage CHEST's successor to try and establish a favourable
renewal option with the APA.
