This sounds like EU customers will have to pay VAT on non-EU online resources. Is that right or am I totally confused? The VAT charge for digital products will from 1st July 2003 be determined by the location of the customer, rather than the business supplier. If the customer is located within the European Union, then VAT will be due. The rules apply to electronic supply of software, webcasts, internet service packages, and making databases available; as well as a number of other "electronically delivered services". > > > >at least this should clarify the situation for us... >although maybe at the expense of our budgets ;-) > >Marie-Laure > >Marie-Laure Bouchet >Electronic Library Development Manager >Library & Information Services >Nottingham Trent University > >email: [log in to unmask] >tel: 0115 848 2290 > > Ms Eileen Jamieson LIS, Electronic Services Group =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Acquisitions Section Tel: +44 (0)20 7942 5634 Library and Information Services The Natural History Museum Fax: +44 (0)20 7942 5764 Cromwell Road London http://www.nhm.ac.uk SW7 5BD =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- **** New for 2003 **** ISSN 1477-2000 Systematics and Biodiversity ISSN 1477-2019 Journal of Systematic Palaeontology Published by CUP on behalf of The Natural History Museum http://www.cambridge.org
