Please don't leave the list Wendy. Sometimes some of us sound off a bit when frustrated. I hope you find a good job soon - don't despair. It took me eight months to find my first post qualification job and I had to move to Yorkshire. I'd just about given up hope when I got it. Good luck with your job hunting - you will find something. To start a discussion more directly relevant to chartership - what do people make of the proposed Cilip code of ethics? Take a look at it on their website. My own feeling is there is a lot there not really to do with ethics but with imposing continuing professional development. There is a chance to provide feedback, so we can influence the content. -----Original Message----- From: Wendy Harrisson [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Monday, April 07, 2003 7:10 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: This list And I think I'll come off this list altogether :-(. I joined to discuss the chartership process and am getting a bit tired of one individual using it to rant against his own personal circumstances - which don't really have anything to do with me, and, as far as I can see, nothing to do with chartership either. I'm always amazed by those in the profession who spend all their time complaining about it. Why take a job in the first place if you find the pay so unacceptable? Sorry if E.S. Rees didn't realise how badly paid the profession was, some of us knew from the beginning, but still chose to go into it - perhaps he needs to change career? (I believe academia is equally "well-paid" and reliable, and teachers for inner-city schools are always in demand). Wendy (currently unemployed due to contract ending, and would be grateful for any permanent, part time job within reasonable commuting distance)
