GIS Software Tester-Recent Graduate Considered

£18,000 to £20,000 to start
The Position
Ideally suited to a recent graduate in GIS who has gained some experience in software development or support and in particular, web-hosted applications. Someone with an aptitude for resolving software-related problems. The characteristics required are a good eye for detail, a keen in interest in how software works and a liking for team-based work.
The position is at trainee level, so full on-the-job and vocational training will be provided.
What the job involves
-Quality Assurance tasks which include the creation of Test Plans, automated and ad-hoc testing and stress testing of GIS software applications, many of which are web-based. These are written in C++ and Visual Basic, so any experience in one or both of these languages is a plus.
-Producing technical end-user documentation. This will involve working closely with the software development team to create user-manuals describing technical details in a form readily accessible to end-users.
