The company provides value added data services and products to a wide variety of markets including the European Union, Central and Local Government.
The job entails contacting and responding to clients and potential customers who are interested in acquiring either bespoke or off-the-shelf geo-datasets. SOME FLUENCY IN A EUROPEAN LANGUAGE IS ESSENTIAL.
This role offers a highly varied job content that embraces all aspects of supporting the sale of digital data products.
The ideal candidate will have some sales, telemarketing or bid management experience and be a willing and quick learner able to rapidly assimilate terminology and technology from different market sectors. Experience of handling and structuring large complex data sets particularly building applications from diverse data sources is very relevant. You need to be a dynamic and well presented GIS professional with experience the selling process or an attitude that reflects an empathy with sales. Added to this should be the ability to convey technical features to customers as benefits.
Technically you should be familiar with GIS-related software and be comfortable working with multiple data formats and data structures. Knowledge of, or an interest in Web technology and internet/intranet applications would be desirable.
The job is ideally suited to someone looking for a challenging position in a rapidly growing company who invest in their staff.
