GAZETTEER CUSTODIAN FIXED TERM – 2 years Ref: COR/18/EXT £27,873 - £32,991 Forth Valley GIS is a joint unit providing corporate GIS services to Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Councils. The unit also provides GIS services to a range of external public sector organisations. To help meet the challenges arising from Modernising Government initiatives and exploit the opportunities and benefits that GIS can bring to improved service delivery, Forth Valley GIS is seeking to recruit a Gazetteer Custodian. The partner Councils of Forth Valley GIS are developing definitive Corporate Address Gazetteers to provide a single point of reference for addressing all buildings and organisations. The Address Gazetteers, linked to Local Street Gazetteers, will play a key part in the wider integration of information systems to improve service delivery and organisational performance. You will be expected to : • Develop policies and procedures for the effective management and maintenance of the gazetteers • Manage the relationship with Services responsible for gazetteer data maintenance • Develop, implement and review business processes for maintenance of the gazetteers • Promote and develop the integration of gazetteers with business systems • Establish quality and performance management procedures that will ensure data integrity of the gazetteers You will have : • Extensive experience in the management of land, property and address- based information • In depth knowledge and experience of BS7666 and its implementation • Working knowledge of GIS • Proven project management experience • Knowledge of spatial database management systems • Business analysis/design and data modelling skills You will be highly motivated and have strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels. You should be educated to degree level or equivalent in GIS, information systems, computer studies or a related discipline.
