Deborah, I do believe that you are talking out of your arse!!!! For one America has been in a recession alot longer than the rest of us because of the Sept 11th effect and secondly the US has loads more GIS jobs than the rest of the world. Just by looking at GIS Jobs Clearinghouse I can tell that. Thanks for your time. Chris Hancox P.S. To GIS-Jobs: Is there anyway we can kick Little Miss Perfect off this list. --- Deborah Cole <[log in to unmask]> wrote: --------------------------------- I've been told this field is redundant and it has nothing to do with the recession. I've been advised that I need to get to know as much database analysis and programming as possible because GIS won't pay anything in the long-run. Also, we should stop using the 'recession' as an excuse why things are bad. I don't remember when we were NOT in a recession and I'm sick of that label because labelling the situation like that doesn't pay my bills. _________________________________________________________________ Use MSN Messenger to send music and pics to your friends http://www.msn.co.uk/messenger To unsubscribe or modify your gis-jobs settings, please visit: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/gis-jobs
