Writer needed by HLF

Involving Young People in Heritage Projects

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) wishes to commission an external author to write a publication synthesising existing research reports and other material on the above topic.

Experience and Skills required

Essential:

A track record of successful writing for publication
Proven ability to write in a lively, accessible way for our target audiences
Understanding of access and learning issues in the heritage or youth work sectors
Experience in analysing and synthesising material and extracting key factors
Ability to structure documents in a coherent and logical manner
Ability to meet deadlines
Well developed oral communication and negotiation skills

Desirable:

Experience in writing to the Crystal Mark requirements of the Plain English Campaign
Experience of photograph selection
Experience of working with a commissioning editor, designers and publishers

Procurement and Fee:

The procurement is by competitive tender. A budget for this project has been set at £5,000 (inc. VAT). Tenders need to be received at HLF by 14 July 2003.
