Er... if it's pro rata (assuming the "standard" week is 40 hours) then it
should be approximately £5147 a year for about 520 hours' work...

Making it £9.90/hr, I think.

But then again math was never my strongest suit!

Tim

This is coming from someone in the U.S., so please understand this is
decidedly *not* a UK perspective:

For working only 13 hours a week, this is an excellent salary. Doing the
math, it comes out to a little over 27 pounds an hour, or roughly 40 U.S.
dollars an hour. I'm not sure how much teachers are paid in England but this
is certainly more than all but the most experienced teachers are earning
here in America.

It's easy to look at the annual salary and think that this is a low paying
position, but after doing a bit of math one can see it's quite generous.

My two cents (or pence)

Adrian

I have made this point before (and I am not getting at my colleague in
Fishbourne), but you're looking for an experienced teacher/educator on £14k?
(albeit pro rata). This is below a teachers' starting salary. Or are they
paying in Roman money?
