Hello folks,

NKOS, the Network of Knowledge Organisation Systems, which has been
mentioned several time before on this list recently held a conference in
Seattle, which addressed several themes related to the interests of this
list. These include the relationship between traditional thesauri and the
richer language of ontologies, the need for development of standards for
thesauri to meet modern techniology, and the practical implications of
making thesauri more widely used via the web (such as INSCRIPTION style
registers).

Many of the presentations are available via the links below as PowerPoint
files, and I'd recommend them as a view into the future,
