Actually the reason why I asked the question the last time about the idea of
"re-inventing" the musical was because I was scheduled to write a review for
a journal specifically on the films, "Moulin Rouge" and(or) "Chicago".

A professor of mine called "Moulin Rouge" a heterosexualization of camp, and
another that it was Baz Luhrmann's reflection of 'gay Sydney'. Somewhat
conflicting views I am still trying to sort out. Anyone who has any idea
about this strand of thought with regards to the films?
