To those on the list, I am actually writing a paper on the relationship between Benedict Anderson's idea of "imagined communities" and cinema, particularly the cinema of South Korea produced in the recent decades, and how the relations between violence, terrorism, political espionage produced on the sides of North or South Korea are essential to either maintaining a clear division between the opposing ideologies of the North and the South, or to dissolving the differences to achieve a re-unification. Does anyone on the list of Film Philosophy have any idea with regards to the secondary literature of criticism written with regards to the idea of "imagined communities" and how it can be applied--or is applied--to film and cinema studies, particularly East Asian and European cinemas? Thank you very much for the help. Sincerely, Kevin
