For a fun take on librarians - if I remember correctly - there's the sequence in Ghostbusters which features a 'ghostly' librarian. Or on a more serious note take a look at Frank Capra's 'It's a Wonderful Life'. If the character of George had not been born his wife would have suffered the unthinkable punishment of being an old maid AND a Librarian.
