Sometimes it is difficult to enjoy much when certain aspects of the world cause us to surround ourselves in a thick coat of cynicism. I'm not excluded from that, however I love film...the movies...the talkies I think we all love. Once I was part of this Saturday night youth audience...and from there I've cultivated a deep interest in all aspects of film. There are always implications to be discussed, even if we are talking about Tromaville's Toxic Avenger. If you think about it long enough, you could probably come up with some hint of philosophy, even if it is just theory about the detrimental effects such films (and Toxy might be too obscure to fall into your Sat. youth category) as You've Got Mail or Runaway Bride can bring about. I don't particularly care to study such films, but there are others (like The Matrix) that possess a little more dignity than the above mentioned box office whores. My two cents. You can always find substance, even in the gaps. And that's my nod to Foucaultian proliferation of meaning.
