Dear filmosophers -

One global movie springs to mind: Wim Wenders' UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD
(1991) - which, it is rumoured, will soon exist in a five hour director's
cut on DVD. Uneasy news for those of us who rank it among WW's worst films!

But for globality, it can't be beat. Raul Ruiz once said that it's a great
film to take a siesta in: because you fall asleep in (for example) Portugal
and wake up in Australia. In fact, he had seen the film numerous times, so
that on each occasion he could exit and enter sleep from different countries
!!!
