On the pedophilia question, Tom Topor (of "Nuts" and "The Accused" fame)
wrote and directed an HBO movie in 1990 called "Judgment," with David
Strathairn as the pedophile priest as well as Keith Carradine, Blythe Danner,
Jack Warden, Robert Joy, and Dylan Baker (of "Happiness" fame).
On the death question, my essay "Alfred Hitchcock: Registrar of Births and
Deaths" looks at Hitchcock's last completed film, "Family Plot," from the
standpoint of his intensifying intimations of mortality. It appeared in the
Hitchcock Annual and has been reprinted in Sidney Gottlieb and Christopher
Brookhouse, eds., "Framing Hitchcock: Selected Essays From the Hitchcock
Annual" (Wayne State UP, 2002).
