I ask this just out of curiosity, since some of the suggestions of films whose narratives detour seem to me to be films in which the narrative is, in fact, a detour. Since many of the suggestions show a certain common understanding that detours are directions taken away from explicit ellipses, I just wondered how explicit a narrative has to be in order for its parenthesis to be considered a detour.
