Hello, First records of name: Sorham 1073 Soraham 1075 Soreham 1086 Later: Schorham, Shoram. I do not pretend to know about language, although I do know about topography and have local knowledge. In those days we walked to school so we knew the layout of the land very well. I have my own opinions about the origin of the name. Both components could be argued about.
