Report of a survey of the disability staff development needs of HE teachers

I have a student who hopes to apply to a Fine Art degree (he’s not sure which institution yet).  He did very well in many of his GCSEs but only gained F grades in Maths and English.  He has very profound literacy and other difficulties associated with SpLDs (with current Ed Psych Report), so retaking these subjects would be unlikely to substantially improve his grades.  Having said that, his vocabulary and oral use of English are very sophisticated, and he is bilingual and achieved a grade A in French.

Would he be likely to be given sympathetic treatment from admissions officers, or would his grades in English & Maths be a major difficulty?

Thanks.
