Dear Disability Officers We have been involved in the DfES round table meetings over the past twelve months, as a part of the review into the DSA process, but have not directly been a part of the QAG group. We have sensed that some disability officers do not feel that they have had an adequate opportunity to make their views known regarding the impact of the proposed changes to the DSA process, and in particular how this will impact upon disability services and institutions. We are therefore offering to collate responses from disability officers (anonymously, if required) independently from the QAG group, and bring these to the next full meeting of the DfES round table. We are also prepared to bring these responses for further discussion to the NADO conference in July. As we don't want to cause bad feelings, or step on anybody's toes, this offer has been made with the agreement of the DfES and also with the agreement of David Laycock and Ian Webb, who are the disability officer representatives of NADO on the QAG group. In order for us to collate these responses we will need replies by 16th May.
