Ignoring any legalities for the moment, surely it is simple politeness to
make people aware of this fact?

Subject: [data-protection] Telephone recording - external callers

Telephone recording - external callers.

Has anyone any definitive guidance on telephone recording (have already
referenced OFTEL , RIPA, DP Act etc). I specifically want to
determine if the external caller MUST be advised that their call will be
recorded i.e. a message to that effect. It would seem to me that if they are
not we will contravene DP and RIPA and Telecoms Acts.

Regards
