According to the Times (Saturday), on the day of the death of Dr.
Kelly, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO ) held an urgent
meeting between top officials. No record was taken except hand notes .
The last entry of these scribbled notes was "Legal Q's - data
protection".

So there you have it - DP was a major concern when Dr. Kelly's suicide
became known to top officials at the FCO .

Does anybody have any idea why?

Could it be that the FCO could disclose anything about Dr. Kelly because
the data was not personal data? Or was it that the DP Act could not be
used as a reason for not disclosing? I am sure the conspiracy theorists
among you can come up with some amusing reasons.
