It's easy to check at

http://edm.ais.co.uk/weblink/html/motion.html/ref=266

On Tuesday it was 89 MPs. Today it shows 129. At least one of these helped along by a member of this list. Though I gather than one needs 200 or so before anyone takes serious notice. But NIACE is to be congratulated for getting this much attention at least.

Dear Colleagues,

If you want urge your MP to sign the Early Day Motion 266

namely

EDM 266

 WIDENING ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION
 10.12.03

 Francis/Hywel

That this House congratulates all those higher education institutions which
have developed successful access strategies for under-represented groups
such as working class children and adults, ethnic minorities and people with
disabilities; welcomes the Government's continued commitment to lifelong
learning; notes that 42 per cent. of all students are officially part-time;
and calls on the Government to ensure that its proposed Higher Education
Bill is fair and equitable for part-time and full-time adult students.

You may find that sending a fax via

http://www.faxyourmp.com/

is a very efficient means of doing so.

best
