ANNOUNCING: Disease Mapping with WinBUGS and MLwiN Andrew B. Lawson, William J. Browne, Carmen L. Vidal Rodeiro A new book in the Wiley Statistics in Practice series is targetted for a September publication date. Advance copies will be available at the ASA JSM in August. This book is intended to provide an introduction to the use of WinBUGS and MLwiN in disease mapping applications. The book features the analysis of count data with Poisson and Binomial hierarchical models. Applications include relative risk estimation, focussed clustering, ecological analysis, and spatial survival analysis. Space-time models are also featured. Recent developments using mixtures and spatially-weighted regression are also reviewed. It is hoped that the book will appeal not only to academic statisticians and epidemiologists, but also to public health professionals who require an introductory text covering the use of the packages with a practical guide to applications in disease mapping. A web site will be available from which datasets, odc files and macros will be downloadable. ____________________________________________________________________________ ------------------------------------------------------------------- This list is for discussion of modelling issues and the BUGS software.
