I have a 3-level pattern mixture model for handling drop-out data.  However, I am obtaining persistent, long-lagged autocorrelations within the sampling for my regression parameters. Despite attempts at reparameterization I continue to get the same patters of autocorrelations.  How concerned should I be about this? Can someone explain to me the implication of such autocorrelations or point me to a reference?

Thanks in advance
Joe
