Has anyone had experience with coding a time series based state space model in BUGS?

I am interested because I am trying to develop a basic state space model where there are 7 states (age-classes), and the initial distribution of space (acres) for each of the 7 states is close to being known (age-class distribution) based on a census/inventory.

The final distribution of space (acres) is also close to being known (well represented) and occurs within 70 years, or 70 time steps.

The expected intervention (death) and natural aging pathways that enable space to move from one state to another are known. The expected probabilities that adjust space from one state to another through interventions or natural aging are represented as acres/year (could also be represented as the expected percent of total acreage per year).

I would like to be able to use WINBUGS to tease out the necessary probabilities for each of the pathways that results in achieving the expected distribution within the 70 years.

Thank you for your help.
