Dear colleague, apologies if you receive this message more than once but I am canvasing opinions/experiences from several sources in the hope someone might be able to help some colleagues with a refurbishment issue. The colleagues in question are looking at the possibility of refurbishing a science laboratory so that it can double as a 'dry' and 'wet' lab. i.e. it can be used to run computer classes and formal laboratory experiments. The issue is to have computers and monitors that can be tucked away under the bench, to make space for experiments. This would also mean making sure the equipment is kept free from spilt liquids and other nice substances that the students are likely to be using. I am aware of one company, Interfocus (www.mynewlab.co.uk) that provide benches with tops that spin around to hide monitors, but this doesn't really get around the issue of protection from spillages etc. Has anyone attempted a similar transition of a laboratory before or perhaps know of a workable solution? Any suggestions are greatfully received. Best wishes, Paul ____________________________________________ Paul Chin Centre Manager, Dissemination & Networking LTSN Physical Sciences Centre Department of Chemistry University of Hull,Hull HU6 7RX email: [log in to unmask] Tel/Fax: +44 (0)1482 465418 www.physsci.ltsn.ac.uk ____________________________________________
