Enhancing Curricula:
exploring effective curriculum practices in art, design and
communication in Higher Education: April 2002

Colleagues who teach in the context of art and design may welcome
this publication because it addresses some of the pedagogical issues
specific to our disciplines that they may have previously found it
difficult to find. The 1st International conference run by The
Centre for Learning and Teaching in Art & Design (cltad) brought
together 80 teachers of art and design, from 12 different countries,
who had a responsibility for and/or who were interested in the
education of post-compulsory art and design students to share their
views on what issues a future curriculum should address and how it
might be shaped. This book brings together many of the papers, work
in practice and workshops that were presented at the conference.
