HEAD OF ARCHIVES & SPECIAL COLLECTIONS



Salary £30½k to £36k per annum inclusive (pay award pending)
Applications are invited for the post of Head of Archives & Special
Collections at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). We are
looking for a dynamic individual to administer and manage the Library's
archives and special collections and to have a vision for their role
within the  Library's overall strategic direction.  The successful
candidate will be expected to negotiate and manage new and  existing
deposit arrangements in line with the Library's collection development
policy and to promote the collections to the School and the wider research
 and professional communities.  An archival qualification and three years'
post-qualification experience is  essential, preferably within an academic
environment. Excellent communication
 skills and proven staff management experience are also required.
Annual leave is 30 days per year plus statutory and bank holidays. USS
pension scheme will be available.  An application form and job description
