Dear listmembers,

From the Netherlands, there are five sites with finds of Origanum
vulgare
(one Early Iron Age, 800-500 cal BC and four Roman Period 12BC-450AD
but more closely dated within that range). Besides there is one find
of remains identified as Origanum majorana/vulgare from an enbalmed
body of a member of the Dutch royal family (published in the
proceedings
of the last IWGP in Sheffield, Vegetation History and Archaeobotany).
(Data in RADAR, see VHA 4: 117-125)

Best regards,

oTTo

Hi all,
I'm working on a review paper of the history of oregano, and am looking
for archaeological and ethnohistoric evidence/reports of oregano use in
Europe and the mediterranean.
Can anyone recommend some references?
