Many thanks for this Judith. It sounds interesting. Do you hold one main and
one reassessment session? If so when are the sessions timetabled for?

Jean,

Here at Huddersfield we introduced a 'new assessment strategy' in 2002/03,
one aspect of which was to move the timing of our resit exams to within the
academic year.

Happy to have a chat with you about it - alternatively you might want to
speak to our Head of registry (Kathy Antoszkiw) although she is a bit tied
up this week as it is awards ceremony week.

best wishes

Judith

Subject: Resit Examination Sessions

Hello

at the University of Glamorgan we are researching the pros and cons of not
holding the usual resit examination period in August of each year. If anyone
out there is already organising only one main examination session per
academic year would you be kind enough to share your experiences, especially
in relation to substituting alternative forms of assessment and also how
mitigating circumstances are handled.

many thanks for your help
