Dear colleagues (addicted to haematological morphology), We see blood smears coming from non-haematological/oncological in-patients containing quite a number of heavily vacuolated monocytes (I do not talk about just one here and theree). Should this morphological finding reported to the requesting physician in addition to the monocyte count? Any diagnostic/prognostic meaning in benign disorders? Thank you very much for sharing your opinion with the group. Dr. med.
