I don't believe in CORRECTED calcium - this has to be a misnomer since all variables are not available. However I feel that an ALBUMIN ADJUSTED is valid as long as one includes a siutable rider to exonerate ourselves from the inevitable inappropriate use. I use the formula AdjCa = TotCa * [(40 - alb)*0.02] mmol/L Adjusted to alb of 40 g/L (NB assumes normal pH) May be inaccurate with very low albumin levels with best wishes Richard Richard Mainwaring-Burton Consultant Biochemist Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup, Kent DA14 6LT 020-8308-3084 -----Original Message----- From: Mohmed Ashmaig [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: 08 August 2003 01:14 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Corrected Calcium Dear All, Is any one out their do not use corrected calcium equation with Alb??
