You might be interested in a web site launched today, called Planet Jemma.
It is a 14-part interactive drama about the life, loves and university
career of a young, first-year physics student ('Jemma') to encourage more
teenage girls to consider science related courses and careers. You can talk
to Jemma using text messages and emails as well as vote on her dilemmas
(from how to deal with predatory lab technicians to the mysterious
disappearance of her best friend).

An article in Friday's Guardian (Page 6, Online) asked: "How about Buffy
the Astrophysicist? Jim McClellan reports on a new interactive site
delivering positive mesages to girls by involving them in the daily life of
a teenager at university"

The site is the work of Tim Wright and Rob Bevan of XPT and is funded by
the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA).
