A postdoctoral position in experimental studies of atmospheric chemistry is available at the University of Toronto, effective on or after September 1, 2003. The successful applicant will work in the laboratory of Prof. Jon Abbatt and the initial appointment will be for one-year duration with the possibility for extension thereafter. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in atmospheric or physical chemistry, and possess an outstanding record in research activities. The candidate will conduct fundamental research on the role of heterogeneous chemistry and aerosol processes in the atmosphere. Research projects include: interactions of trace gases with ice and soot surfaces, chemistry and CCN activity of organic aerosols, development of analytical techniques (chemical-ionization MS, electrospray-ionization MS) for detection of atmospheric species. For more information about research activities in our group either contact Jon Abbatt directly or go to the following website: http://www.chem.utoronto.ca/staff/ABBATT/default.htm Applications will be accepted until May 30, 2003.
