Symonds Group are looking for a GIS technician. The technician will work in the GIS team on a range environmental projects including flooding, contaminated land, waste management & landscape design. The role will be to provide additional technical resources to the existing GIS team. The post will involve practical application of skills in data manipulation, spatial analysis and visualiation within industry standard GIS packages to assist in the production of technical reports and mapped outputs. This will include the manipulation and analysis of remote sensed data sets to assist hydraulic modellers and others in the construction of Digital Terrain Models. Candidates should have a background in GIS or environmental science with demonstrable skills in the application of GIS to environmental disciplines and preparation of DTMs. The roles will require the use of GIS packages such as ArcView and MapInfo. The post is permanent and will be located in our East Grinstead office.
