We have a patient (treated for malignant melanoma a few years ago) who now has an abdominal mass. A biopsy is planned, but in the meantime the clinicians have asked whether there is a tumour marker for detecting recurrence of melanoma. I remember we used to do urinary melanogens many years ago - does anyone still offer this, is it considered helpful? Or is there a better marker? Many thanks for your help.
