If we want to propose an almost immediate abandonment of 1.2.2
(and i can personally I would vote for this) then we must get
it cleared by all of the experiments first - at least so that
have felt that they had the chance to react.

This means in practice composing the suggestion and sending
it to the EB via Nick Brook.

Hi,

Bristol should be able to host a new 1.3 GridPP RC service. However,
currently we are committed to participating in the DataTag WorldGrid
Demo, which ends on 22nd November. I won't be able to start upgrading
the Bristol site until after that.

Is IC planning to keep the 1.2.2 RB going until the 1.3 GridPP resources
are up and running? This could lead to confusion, with all the
incompatibilities!

The alternative is stating explicitly to all sites (rather than the WP6
sites who are probably already aware) that, as soon as this upgrade
starts - and for the RB in particular - there will cease to be a
functioning 1.2.2 "GridPP testbed". Sites will only be able to rejoin
testbed once they have also upgraded to 1.3

So the plan would be:

RAL upgrades to 1.3
"Switch off" 1.2.2 GridPP resources
WP6 sites upgrade, and publish instructions for same on GridPP website
"Switch on" 1.3 GridPP resources
Other sites upgrade as and when they feel able
