Lockwood Kiplng gave the camel a very fair press in
Beast and Man in India, in spite of quoting Oonts to shew us what Thomas Atkins
thought of him.
"In his own way beautiful to look at, and his
patience strength and speed,and endurance are beyond all praise". Even Rudyard
is by no means disparaging about the racing camel which takes Heldar to his
death in the revised/original "Light that Failed"
