medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Re: history of ars moriendi
I think that this was mentioned before, but there is a (albeit old) book called:
The Art of Dying Well: the Development of the Ars Moriendi by O’Connor, Mary C. New York: Colombia University Press, 1942.
and a “newer” one: The craft of dying; a study in the literary tradition of the Ars moriendi in England, by Nancy Lee Beaty, New Haven, Yale University Press, 1970.

Hello,
Although there was a little discussion a while ago, I still have a question about the Ars moriendi-books: is there a study, a book a dissertation or something like that called The history of Ars moriendi books? Or Ars moriendi throughout the centuries? Or All the ars moriendis ever written and printed? If such a study does not exist, who on the list wants to wright it?
Greetings,
Bas Jongenelen
