Dear list subscribers, The Monash University (Melbourne, Australia) HTA group is seeking a Research Officer to replace a staff member going on maternity leave. JOB AD: POSITION: Research Officer (Maternity Leave Replacement) LOCATION: Monash Institute of Health Services Research, Melbourne, AUSTRALIA The Centre for Clinical Effectiveness (CCE) seeks new staff to join our team of Research Officers in an interesting and innovative health care research environment. The position will be for six months, as a replacement for staff on maternity leave. Your role will be to conduct evaluations of research evidence regarding new health care technologies (which include pharmaceuticals, surgical procedures, diagnostic tests and medical devices). You will have - A postgraduate or medical degree with experience in a field relevant to the activities of the Unit: at least one of epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics or health related research OR extensive experience in health research in these areas; - Experience in preparing reports, written documents and/or other scientific papers; - Worked as part of a team and/or team leader; - Good communication skills; and - High-level computer literacy. Plus one or more of the following: - Extensive experience in Health Technology Assessment and systematic reviews; - Proven electronic information searching experience (databases and Internet); - Familiarity with research methodologies; - Knowledge of evidence based health care theory and practice; - Critical appraisal experience; or - Experience in a clinical research environment. Appointments will be for 6 months in the first instance as replacement for staff on maternity leave, with the possibility of continuing employment subject to funding and performance.
