medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

From my previous research regarding manuscripts compiled during the rule of and by Alfonso el Sabio (1221-1284), I recall a number of Arab mss which concern astrological/astronomical issues, and also the (anagogical) meaning and magic of (semiprecious) stones, etc. Unfortunately, I don't have the relevant citations at my fingertips, but writings such as on the Pseudo-Magriti,  then (especially) the Picatrix, the Libro de las Cruzes, the Libro conplido en los iudizios de las estrellas point into that direction. See H. Ritter & M. Plessner, '"Picatrix," das Ziel der Weisen von Pseudo-Magriti," Studies of the Warburg Institute 27 (1962); see also Lloyd A. Kasten & Lawrence B. Kiddle, Alfonso el Sabio. Libro de las Cruzes. Consejo superior de inverstigaciones cientificas, Instituto "Miguel Cervantes", Madrid 1961, and John Esten Keller, Alfonso X el Sabio. New York 1967. I hope that helps a bit, good luck.
