From Friday 8 to Friday 29 November 2002 can be viewed 'Folding London : an
exhibition of 200 years of folding maps' in the Shapero Gallery of Bernard
J. Shapero at 24 Bruton Street, London W1.  At the same time 'London : a
cartographic history 1746-1950 (200 years of folding maps)' compiled by
Lucinda Boyle (of Shapero Rare Books), and with an introduction by Ralph
Hyde, will be published by Countrywide Editions and will be available from
Bernard J. Shapero Rare Books at 32 Saint George Street, London W1; e-mail

The basis of these events is "what is probably the largest private
collection of folding maps of London in the world" (publicity  letter); "It
is hoped that the exhibition will be sold as a collection and it is priced
