eDIKT e-Data, Information and Knowledge Transformation (eDIKT) is a new project funded initially for three years by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council (SHEFC) to create a focused, high-quality software development team of nine people to deliver usable database integration technologies. Technical Architect (eDIKT project) You will take the lead technical role in translating research ideas and prototypes into a coherent architecture for the eDIKT project deliverables in the area of advanced data management tools. The ability to communicate effectively with practitioners from a wide range of disciplines is vital, as is the ability to understand current computing research, particularly in the area of data management. You must have a degree in a science, engineering or computing discipline (ideally at postgraduate level) together with at least five years experience of software development projects and at least three years experience of high-level design. Your specialist skills will include several of the following: database design, large-scale data management, web services, distributed systems, reliable systems and performance engineering.
