Dear All, The Social Policy Research Unit at the University of York, in partnership with the consultancy Acton.Shapiro, has been commissioned by the NHS Service Delivery Organisation Research and Development Programme to conduct a review of the literature on access to health care for informal carers. The research team will examine evidence from UK and international research in order to identify: - The problems and barriers which carers experience in accessing health care services, and any associated issues relating to equity of access and level of unmet need. - Evidence of specific interventions that can improve carers' access to health care services, and how these may vary according to carers' circumstances. The findings will also shed light on further research and development work that may be of value in this area. We are using a number of different sources to ensure we identify all relevant research in this field. One of these is to contact researchers who are involved in this area to see if they can supply us with information about studies on carers' access to health care. If you are aware of any work that may be relevant, it would be very helpful if you could let us know how we can obtain copies of any working papers, and/or published reports or articles, that are available. Likewise if you are aware of any other researchers or research centres that you think would be useful for us to get in touch with, we would be very pleased if you could give us their contact details.
