medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture You may want to look at Richard Kieckhefer's Unquiet Souls (University of Chicago Press, 1984), Jane Tibbetts Schulenburg's "Saintsą Lives as a Source for the History of Women, 500-1100," in Medieval Women and the Sources of Medieval History, ed. Joel T. Rosenthal (University of Georgia Press, 1990), and her Forgetful of Their Sex (University of Chicago Press, 1998). Amy Hollywood's comparison of women's own portrayal of their religiosity with their male hagiographers' representations in her The Soul as Virgin Wife (Notre Dame, 1995) and also Meister Eckhart and the Beguine Mystics, ed Bernard McGinn (Continuum, 1994), may be of use as well. Sounds like a great class!
